New Update: 2 People Trapped in Lexington Rollover Crash, Road Closed

A serious two-car car crash in Middlesex County led to a multi-department response after multiple people were left stuck inside a wrecked vehicle, officials say.

Multiple people were reported to be trapped in a rollover crash that occurred around 10:04 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29, on Lowell Street in Lexington, according to the Lexington Police Department. 

Firefighters extracted the trapped people and EMS took all people inside both vehicles to nearby hospitals. Some of the injuries were minor, but others were serious, police said.

Lowell Street was shut down from Maple Street to Fairlawn until around 1:20 p.m., according to police posts. 

The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Section responded to reconstruct the crash, which remains under investigation.
